OUR FOOD PHILOSOPHY

The Shepherd & Dog is the passion project of owner Rebecca Bailey, who trained as a chef at Leith’s of London culinary school before building a career in private catering. In 2019, Rebecca took the leap and bought the pub bringing her culinary expertise and love of great food to the heart of Crays Hill.

Alongside Rebecca in the kitchen is Head Chef Carlo Mason, who brings over 36 years of experience to every plate. Trained in Michelin star kitchens, Carlo shares the same philosophy: fresh, high quality food crafted with care and served with pride. Together, they ensure every dish at The Shepherd & Dog is something to savour.
